Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico. She's an American-Mexican actor. She sings as well. Her mother raised her in the USA in a place where she endured many racial taunts that left her feeling like a non-person. After she participated in an event at school and was given the highest praise for her singing at the age of 9 the young girl started to grow more confident. The experience not only increased her confidence but was also a change in the direction in which she went on to pursue her professional career. At the age of 22, she graduated from New York's Julliard School. When she was 23, she made her first appearance on Broadway in Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films with You've Got Mail. In the Broadway first production of Spamalot she portrayed the role of Lady of The Lake which won the Tony Award as well as critical praise. Following that she was cast in the role of the character Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her gain more fame. As a well-known singer, she also has released a song and a play. In addition, she's a campaigner and has been active to promote LGBT rights.
